This 12” statue of the Bard himself is made of what appears to be spelter, though we’re not 100% certain. What we are sure of? He’s got presence.
Shakespeare (or, as boldly etched on the base—Shakspeare, a charming historical variant) stands deep in thought, books stacked behind him and a small bundle of pages clutched in hand. He’s the embodiment of literary drama, right down to his ruffled sleeves and pensive pose.
Condition notes:
Two small holes are present—one at the back of the head and one at the side. Their purpose is a mystery, but they don’t detract from the character.
A visible crack at the base near the books adds a bit of antique grit (and is reflected in the price).
This piece is solid and substantial—definitely not one you’ll casually knock off a shelf.
