German Historicist / Neoclassical Revival Mounted Glass Urn

This monumental vase features a ribbed clear insert encased within an elaborate gilt metal framework.
The metal body is richly detailed with neoclassical motifs — fluting, laurel swags, scrolling handles, and stylized acanthus decoration throughout. The warm gilt surface has developed areas of natural patina and subtle verdigris, particularly along one handle, adding depth and age to the finish.
The interior insert lifts fully from the caged frame. It is a heavy, ribbed clear glass (possibly crystal; untested for lead content). The top rim of the insert shows chipping, which is completely concealed once seated beneath the metal collar and not visible during display. A flower frog fits beautifully inside, making this not only sculptural but highly functional.
The underside bears a maker's mark and the stamp "Germany."
This is a commanding decorative object at 24 inches tall — architectural in presence and ideal for a grand entry, pedestal, or large-scale floral arrangement.
