Known commonly as “cudweeds” or “everlasting flowers,” these hardy mountain plants were prized for their woolly texture and ability to thrive in thin, stony soils.
Each specimen remains secured by its original linen bindings, the fine ink script below recording both name and provenance. The paper shows light rippling and soft age toning consistent with 19th-century preservation.
